This year Earth Day falls on Tuesday, April 22nd.  Earth Day was started back in 1970 in protest to the effects of pollution on the environment. Today it is celebrated around the world, and every year more people join in the effort to go green. The following are some of the smallest changes you can adopt to make a huge difference by going green:

  • Start carrying reusable bags.
  • Bring a travel mug to your favorite coffee shop.
  • Take public transit whenever possible.
  • Walk or bike instead of driving.
  • Install a water filter on your tap to cut back on the use of plastic bottled water.
  • Limit the use of paper plates, paper towels, and paper napkins.
  • Plug your electronics into a smart power strip.  It will automatically sense when electronics aren’t being used and cuts power to reduce phantom power use.
  • Opt for the paperless bills and online bill paying options that most creditors offer.
  • Recycle! Recycle! Recycle!

If everyone made these small changes, imagine the impact it would have today and in the future!

Take action now, and make everyday Earth Day!
