A classic or antique vehicle is more than just a weekend ride, it’s a long-term investment that will continue to appreciate in the future. If your special vehicle is only driven occasionally or for specific events, and is not used for transporting passengers or for business, you may want to consider a Collector Car Insurance Policy.

Why obtain a special policy for these vehicles instead of adding them to your standard auto policy?

  • You save money. The cost of adding these vehicles to your standard auto policy can cost up to 5 times more.
  • You only pay one blanket liability price no matter how many classic vehicles you have.
  • The companies that insure classic cars offer unique coverages that you can’t get on a standard auto policy, including: actual cash value, stated amount, or agreed value. Standard auto policies will only pay actual cash value (depreciated value) at the time of a loss.

Protector Group can insure all your vehicles are properly covered. Call us at 888-850-9400 for additional information.

Scheduling items such as jewelry, furs, and fine arts will insure them for the full replacement cost, regardless of the reason for the loss. There are two ways to list these items on your policy:

  1. Blanket Coverage – Items are placed in a category with a total dollar amount, which usually does not require an appraisal; or
  2. Individual Coverage – Schedule each item separately using the appraised value.

No deductible applies to either method.

We recommend having your valuables appraised on an annual basis to ensure they are properly covered.

Call us at 1-888-850-9400. We will be happy to help you determine the best method to protect these valuable items.

Personal Property…is it covered?

While your homeowner’s policy provides excellent coverage, some of your most precious items may have limited coverage.  Valuable items such as diamond rings, silver, and fine arts can take a week’s, month’s or year’s worth of income to purchase, but only a few seconds to be lost due to theft, natural disaster, or other unforeseen events.

A Scheduled Personal Property Endorsement can help.  There are many benefits to this endorsement including:

  • No deductible
  • Coverage provided for mysterious disappearances and breakage
  • Standard homeowner policies cap coverages in these classes

It’s quick and easy to add this endorsement and provides protection for the following types of items:

  • Jewelry – including engagement rings and watches (in and out of the vault)
  • Fine Arts
  • Silverware – including silver plated, gold plated, or pewterware
  • Furs and fur garments
  • Coins – including rare and current
  • Stamps and Stamp Collections
  • Limited Editions – including figurines, books, dolls, plates, antiques, and photographs
  • Hobby Collections – including trading cards, comic books, etc.
  • Musical Instruments
  • Cameras
  • Sports Equipment – i.e. golf clubs
  • Firearms

If you are not sure what’s worth covering, or how much coverage you need, give us a call at 888-850-9400.  We can help you determine what coverage provides you with the best value.
